Thelonious Butterfly

Inspired by Puccini's Madame Butterfly I have taken liberties in drawing Cio-Cio-San as a half woman, half butterfly, in transition. The music I have composed on this painting is inspired by the operas famous aria treated in the style of Thelonious Monk, creating Thelonious Bach. My latest c.d. with Mark Egan and Danny Gottlieb is called Thelonious Bach's Lunch.
